A disc-type trap with a single moving part, used where robustness and compactness matter more than close temperature control.
The problem it solves
Steam main drip points need a trap that survives high pressure, superheat and outdoor conditions without seizing or freezing.
Working principle
Condensate lifts the disc and discharges. Flash steam forming beneath the disc raises velocity, dropping pressure under the disc and snapping it shut until the flash condenses.
