Flash Vessel
Separates and re-uses the flash steam released when high-pressure condensate drops to a lower pressure.
Product overview
A vertical separating vessel that takes high-pressure condensate, releases the flash fraction at a controlled lower pressure and delivers dry flash steam to a low-pressure header.
The problem it solves
When high-pressure condensate is discharged to a lower-pressure return line, a percentage of it re-evaporates. Without a vessel to separate it, that flash steam either vents away or causes back-pressure and waterlogging in the return line.
Working principle
Condensate enters tangentially. The velocity drop and the change in direction separate the vapour fraction, which leaves from the top; the residual condensate drains from the bottom through a trap.

- High-pressure condensate returning to a low-pressure header
- Feeding a low-pressure user from recovered flash
- Upstream of a condensate recovery pump to reduce cavitation
