MU-Series
Mutiny Condensate Recovery Pump
Returns condensate at practically 100 °C on motive steam — no electricity, no cavitation, no instrumentation.
Product overview
A steam-operated positive displacement pump that lifts hot condensate back to the boiler house without an electric motor and without cooling the condensate first.
The problem it solves
A centrifugal pump cavitates on condensate near boiling point, so plants cool the condensate before pumping it — throwing away the heat they paid for. An electric pump also adds a motor, a seal and a failure mode to a hot, wet duty.
Working principle
Condensate fills the body under gravity. A float mechanism admits motive steam, which displaces the charge through the outlet check valve; the steam is then exhausted and the cycle repeats.
Applications
- Condensate return from low points and remote plant areas
- Draining stalled heat exchangers
- Any return line where an electric pump would cavitate
Advantages
- Returns condensate at close to 100 °C, keeping the heat in the system
- No electricity, no seals and no cavitation
- Sealed unit suited to hazardous and wet areas
